Introduction to Global MUN

The Global Mun is shaped as a complete learning experience through which students acquire knowledge and high-level skills put to use in the future, including possession of tools for the understanding of global dynamics and their interpretation, and the ability to relate and build links with the globalized world in which we live in the respect of cultures, political opinions, and value systems other than their own. Besides, thanks to the work done during the conference, students develop leadership skills and research, writing, public speaking, and problem-solving expertise. Active participation encourages consensus building through mediation and negotiation, conflict resolution, and the ability to rapidly build friendly and profitable relations among people.

At the Global Model UN, students step into the shoes of ambassadors of countries that are members of the UN. Model UN not only involves young people in the study and discussion of global issues, but also encourages the development of skills useful throughout their lives – skills including research techniques, writing, public speaking, problem-solving, conflict resolution, compromise, and cooperation The popularity of participating in Model UN has contributed to the rapid growth of this activity over the past several decades. Many Model UN participants are repeaters since the spirit of these simulations creates appétit for this activity more commonly known as “M-U-N Fever”.Model UN is proving to be an innovative resource to prepare students for career and college success.

Why Global Mun

Each year, the International Board of the “Global MUN” selects, among the most important global issues, one main topic to be addressed to the Committees (among global warming and climate change, water shortages and sanitation, peace and security, human rights, poverty and hunger, social and economic development, globalization). During the conference, students from different countries work together in order to present concrete solutions to the matters under discussion, as if they were in a real-world forum, studying and discussing key geopolitical issues.
